IndieSecure for Family

Security doesn't stop at the office door.

The same scams, privacy risks and fraud we defend companies against reach families at home. IndieSecure for Family offers free games that help the youngest and eldest members of your family spot the tricks before they work.

Free for families

$0

Both games are free of charge, with no ads. We maintain them and add updates periodically as scams change.

Why we built this

Professional risks become personal ones.

Impersonation, urgency, oversharing and pressure to keep a secret work the same way on a finance team as they do on a grandparent or a twelve-year-old gamer. We believe security, privacy and fraud awareness belong at home too, and that families protect each other best when they practise together.

Youngest

Kids meet strangers, prize pop-ups and pressure inside the games and apps they already use.

Eldest

Older adults are targeted by phone, email and text with urgent stories about family, money and health.

Everyone in between

Parents and adult children are often the first call. The games give you a shared language for that conversation.

The games

Two free games, one for each end of the family

Both games let players see a scam from both sides: as the person being targeted and as the scammer. Knowing how the trick is built makes it easier to spot.

Ages 7–17 · with a parent

  • Check a message that feels off
  • Practise real scenarios: free game currency, new "friends", prize pop-ups, password resets
  • Family mode with talk-it-over prompts and your own family rules
  • Sensitive teen topics open only with a parent's consent
Adults 65+

ScamSpotter

Ten real scams, played from both sides, so the tricks are familiar before they arrive.

  • Grandparent, Medicare, Social Security and bank impersonation
  • Tech support, romance, lottery, gift card and contractor scams
  • Defend as the target, or play the scammer to see how pressure is built
  • Free family account, or a code from your community group

At home

What families can do this week

A few habits make the biggest difference. Pick one for each end of the family and try it together.

For your youngest

  • Set the game up together and agree a few family rules for posting and chatting.
  • Make it normal to show you anything that feels off, with no trouble for asking.
  • Agree that codes, passwords and photos are never shared with someone met online.
  • Talk through what a stranger could learn from a post before it goes up.

For your eldest

  • Agree a family safe word for calls that claim someone is in trouble.
  • When a call or message is urgent, hang up and call back on a number you already know.
  • Remember that no real bank, agency or relative asks to be paid in gift cards.
  • Play ScamSpotter side by side and talk about which tricks felt convincing.

Our commitment

Free, maintained, and updated as scams change.

The games are free of charge and carry no ads. We maintain them and add new scenarios and fixes periodically. Community groups and organisations can ask us for ScamSpotter access codes for their members.
